(the love of work done well)
I grew up in a family of trades and property developers. My father was a cabinet maker and, for many years, a nurse. My mother was a decorator and a cabinet quality inspector. From them I learned what care looks like in practice: attention to the smallest detail, and a commitment to keep learning. In French we call it l'amour du travail bien fait, the love of work done well.
French was the language of our home, and a taste for quality in simplicity came with it: fewer things, chosen carefully, made properly.
I hold a trade qualification and have worked in construction and renovation. I have also studied and worked in project management. In my design career I have worked in kitchens, bathrooms, window furnishings and much more.
